The Anti-Distraction Tool: Final Images

Written Discription

This is the anti-distraction tool. It has been primarily designed to appeal to the sense of touch but also stimulates hearing. The idea of this object is to play with it without thinking about it, the surfaces stimulate a person’s touch sense and by using this they will not get distracted by wandering hands when they are doing other things such as reading or surfing the internet.
My original intention was to create something that a person could keep in their pocket and play with. However through research and testing I found the pocket to be too restricting. So now the object has been designed to simple and comfortably fit in ones hand.

Instruction
The anti-distraction tool is very easy to use, all you need to do is hold it in your hand while you’re doing something else. Try holding it in different ways, feel all the sides and surfaces. But most importantly, don’t think about it, just let your hand wander.

Object Development

Failed attempts at trying to fix the metal between to pieces of wood for a clean look, the metal kept snapping.

Test concept with a thick piece of metal to play with, had an alright sound but received mixed responses to the fact it had sharp edges was good or bad.

Small prototype with aluminum as the metal, made a nice sound but the object was too small.
